About Board of Prefects
The St. Servatius’ College Board of Prefects was instituted in 1956 with a few important tasks that fell to them within our school community. It consists of committed students who show interest in organizing a positive school community-respect, responsibility, and service.
They are elected according to character, quality of leadership, and service to other students. This is, they set examples for others in contributing towards guiding and assisting other students in different areas within the school. Organising events, facilitating communication between students and faculty, encouraging school spirit.
Besides, the Board of Prefects takes part in leadership training in developing necessary competencies: teamwork, solving problems, and communicating with people. These kinds of experiences will be helpful not only for the prefects themselves but also for general improvement in the school community.
This ensures that prefects take community service initiatives and other activities to school with the purpose of enabling students to build a sense of belonging. As part of tradition and legacy, the Board of Prefects at St. Servatius College is committed to inspiring the leaders of the future while ensuring that not one of us gets left out in our diversity.

127th Anniversary Celebration
Under the leadership of the Board of Prefects, St. Servatius College celebrated its 127th Anniversary with grandeur and reverence, commemorating over a century of academic excellence, community, and tradition. The milestone event brought together students, alumni, faculty, and distinguished guests to honor the legacy and achievements that have shaped our institution.
Teachers’ Day event 2024
“ගුරු උපහාර 2024” – Teachers’ Day event, which was organized by the Servatius Board Of Prefect was successfully held on 8th October 2024
Sisu Nayu Abhises 2024
St. Servatius’ College successfully hosted “සිසු නයු අභිසෙස් 2024,” the oath ceremony for the Board of Prefects, on July 12, 2024, in the main hall. The event celebrated the induction of new prefects, featuring vibrant performances and activities that made the day unforgettable for all present.
Food Parcel Distribution to Displaced Families in Matara
In collaboration with the St. Servatius’ College Board of Prefects, food parcels were distributed to displaced families in the Matara district, providing essential support and relief to those in need during difficult times.
Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony 2023

You all demonstrated outstanding dedication throughout the entire year.Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony 2023 was successfully held by St. Servatius’ College, Matara on the 06th of July 2023 at the College’s Premises.
Leadership Training Programme
Organized by the St. Servatius’ College Board of Prefects in collaboration with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, a Leadership Training Program was held on March 31st and April 1st, 2023.

Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony 2022 was successfully held by St. Servatius’ College, Matara on the 17th of June 2022 at the College’s Premises.
An attitude improvement program
An attitude improvement program organized by the 2022 Senior Prefect Board, for the Junior Prefects was conducted with the participation of the school’s distinguished alumnus Mr. Akila Nilaweera.
